MARCH 25, 2010 From The Times of London: The Science Museum is revising the contents of its new climate science gallery to reflect the wave of scepticism that has engulfed the issue in recent months. The decision by the 100-year-old London museum reveals how deeply scientific institutions have been shaken by the public’s reaction to revelations of malpractice by climate scientists. The museum is abandoning its previous practice of trying to persuade visitors of the dangers of global warming. It is instead adopting a neutral position, acknowledging that there are legitimate doubts about the impact of man-made emissions on the climate. Now that is progress. Finally, we have an admission that intelligent people can actually question, and even doubt, scientists. We don't see that admission coming yet from the Obama administration.
MARCH 24, 2010 CHICAGO, March 23 (UPI) -- Chicago police said a motorist pulled over for reckless driving was arrested and charged with impersonating a police officer. Police said Obadiah Davis, 28, was pulled over at about 2:30 p.m. Friday after he nearly struck a police cruiser with his blue Ford Crown Victoria while backing out of a car wash, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday. The police report said Davis showed his license to the officer but refused to produce proof of insurance, claiming he did not need it because he was a "police officer." It's Chicago. If only he'd impersonated a voter, nothing would have happened. Foolish man.
MARCH 23, 2010 PITTSBURGH (AP) - A fugitive wanted for bank robbery in Michigan is in custody after police say he walked out of a Pittsburgh hospital and into a bar wearing only his hospital gown, with an intravenous needle still his arm. Actually, he was the first victim of Obamacare.
MARCH 22, 2010 ORLANDO, Fla., March 21 (UPI) -- An Orlando, Fla., bachelor who used a billboard to find dates says he might still be looking for love in all the wrong places but he remains optimistic. John Smith rented a billboard along the city's Interstate 4 during December hoping the right woman would contact his helpjohnfindlove.com Web site, but he says the women he's met have been less than ideal, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported Sunday. I wonder why. Would your sister answer a billboard?
MARCH 21, 2010 PITTSBURGH (AP) - Police said a man broke into a Pittsburgh home and climbed into bed with its owner, apparently because he was drunk and cold following a rap concert. Homeowner Frank Fontana says he was in bed when the man climbed in about 5:30 Wednesday morning. Fontana says he asked whether it was a woman who has keys to his home - and he grabbed a baseball bat when a deep male voice answered, "No, it's not." If only the visitor had a higher-pitched voice, he could've gotten a good, sound sleep.
MARCH 20, 2010 GUILDFORD, England, March 19 (UPI) -- A British developer was acquitted of insurance fraud by a jury that apparently accepted his story that he misplaced his Lamborghini during a night on the town. Glenn Knowles, 35, said he originally lied about what happened to the car because he was embarrassed, The Daily Mail reported. Knowles and Robert Mant, 29, the joint owners of the $195,000 Italian sports car, were both tried in Guilford (England) Crown Court. The jury came back Thursday with a not guilty verdict. The defense presented evidence that Knowles had misplaced a Mercedes under similar circumstances. From the story, I'm assuming these guys aren't married. I mean, what would you tell your wife? Really.
